2010
Australia win the mid-year Women’s Asian Cup with local trio Lisa De Vanna, Collette McCallum and Samantha Kerr all playing their part in the success.
Richard Garcia becomes the first West Australian male to appear in a World Cup finals game when he starts against Germany. Another local, Nikita Rukavytsya, replaces Garcia after half-time.
Graham Normanton calls time on a remarkable 12-year coaching spell with Perth SC, during which the club captured a staggering twenty-two trophies.
2011
For the first time a Women’s Night Series final is officiated by an all-female team in Emma Farrell, Diana Reeves, Jody Pace and Sandra Hill-Williamson.

Michael Petkovic, a three-time National Soccer League Goalkeeper of the Year, hangs up his gloves after over 400 professional appearances in Australia and Turkey.
Perth SC win their fourth successive Grand Final by thrashing Sorrento 7-0.
2012
Perth Glory lose the 2011/12 A-League Grand Final in controversial circumstances to Brisbane Roar. Matthew Cheeseman is an Assistant Referee.
Northern Redbacks win their fifth successive womens State Cup Final by defeating Beckenham Angels at Macedonia Park.
2013
Queens Park attacker Stacey Woodfin is voted womens Player of the Year for the fifth time, having previously won the award in 2004, 2005, 2008 and 2011.
Gustavo Giron-Marulanda collects a third straight Golden Boot award after netting 18 regular season goals for Bayswater City. The Colombian striker will finish top goalscorer for a fourth time in 2015.
2014
Perth Glory lose to Adelaide United 1-0 at the inaugural FFA Cup final (later the Australian Cup) at Hindmarsh Stadium.
Records tumble as Perth Glory win the 2013/14 W-League. The team achieves a new record of points gained in a single season (30) while Kate Gill’s five-goal haul vs Western Sydney Wanderers is the most scored by a player in a single game.
2015
Collette McCallum makes the last of her 81 appearances for Australia. The midfielder featured at two Women’s World Cup and three Women’s Asian Cup tournaments.
Bayswater City claims the National Premier League title by completing the home and away series without loss, winning 19 and drawing three of 22 games.

2016
Samantha Kerr wins the Julie Dolan Award as the W-League’s best player. The Perth Glory attacker is back on the podium again twelve months later when she shares the award with Claire Polkinghorne (Brisbane Roar).
The number of registered players in metropolitan and regional Western Australia tops 44,000 for the first time.
Stirling Lions’ David Micevski wins his second Gold Medal. The midfielder was first voted the league’s best player in 2009 when at Western Knights.
2018
Trent Sainsbury becomes the third West Australian to captain Australia at ‘A’ international level when he leads to side against the Czech Republic on Friday June 1.
Five West Australians – Trent Sainsbury, Josh Risdon, Brad Jones, Nikita Rukavytsya and Aleksandar Susnjar – are selected in the Australia squad for the World Cup finals tournament in Russia.
London club Chelsea defeats Perth Glory 1-0 in front of 55,522 fans at Optus Stadium on the evening of July 23.

2019
Lisa De Vanna makes her 150th international appearance for Australia against Jamaica. It is the veteran strikers last national team outing in career that’s spanned four World Cups and two Olympic Games.
Perth Glory finish top of the A-League for the first time, however, they lose the Grand Final to Sydney FC. The game attracts a crowd of 56,371.
2020
Melbourne City custodian Lydia Williams is named W-League Goalkeeper of the Year, adding to wins in 2011, 2012, 2017 and 2019.
Inglewood United’s Alex Dunn makes it a hat-trick of Goalkeeper of the Year honours. On each occasion he shares the award, with Jason Saldaris (Floreat Athena) in both 2018 and 2019 and Luke Radonich (Cockburn City) in 2020.
2022
Manchester United spend ten-days in Perth as part of the Festival of Football, which also features Aston Villa, Leeds United and Crystal Palace.
Perth RedStar’s Daryl Nicol collects his third Gold Medal. The attacker’s previous wins came in 2018 (Bayswater City) and 2019 (ECU Joondalup).
2023
The opening of the State Football Centre gives the game in Western Australia a long-awaited home.
Perth hosts five Women’s World Cup games, which attract a combined total of 85,280 spectators. The tournament, co-hosted by Australia and New Zealand, sets a new benchmark for attendance records.
Samantha Kerr places second in the prestigious Ballon d’Or Feminin award, which recognises the world’s best female footballer. The Matilda’s captain had finished third in each of the two previous years.
The Matildas demolish Chinese Tapei 8-0 in an Olympic Games qualifier at Optus Stadium. A record crowd of 59,155 turn out for the occasion.
